Want Your Students to Earn the "Funky Spunky Sweet Smelling Skunky " Award for Reading their Sight Words? Check out this Fun Free Game!

I'm really excited to be a part of this fantastic new collaborative blog. My name is Arlene and I blog over at LMN Tree. I'm 63 and retired after more than 33 years of classroom experience all over the U.S. including Alaska and Hawaii and overseas in Seoul, South Korea. I spent most of my career in Elementary schools and have taught Special Ed and ESL. My last 9 years were spent as an ESL Resource teacher/specialist in a Title I Elementary school in Anchorage, Alaska. Most of the products I make have lots of visuals and reading activities that are at grade level and below grade level to help the ESL and struggling readers in your classrooms. I also like to share lots of freebies. It's my way of giving back to a profession that has meant so much to me. I only started selling and blogging this year and it has taken me a lot longer to figure it all out but I think I'm getting there. I started making these "Don't Get Skunked" games for helping students practice their sight words but I recently realized they needed some updates. Here is my first grade game:
It's a fun game where students put all the cards face down on the table or floor. They can play in pairs or groups of 3 or 4. Then they decide how many cards they can turn over and read (no more than 4) before getting the Skunk Card. You'll have to download it to get all the rest of the details. I decided to add the "Funky Spunky Sweet Smelling Skunky " Award that they can earn for reading their words. The one above is my Free 1st grade game which you can download from my TpT store by clicking on the picture above.

If you teach 1st Grade Treasures I have a Treasures Edition of their 1st Grade "Words to Know" Don't Get Skunked for Units 1-6. I have put it on sale along with my Halloween "Don't Get Spooked" Game for 1st-2nd which is played the same way but in this game you don't want to get the Spider Card. I hope you will check them out while you are downloading your freebie.

Thanks for all you do to make a difference for your students. I hope you will visit my blog and would love for you to follow my store if you like what you see. Until the next time.

It's LMN Tree
