Teaching About the Importance of Election Day

This year's presidential election comes at a time of economic struggles and uncertainty for our future. Living in Florida I know how critical every single vote is to determine who will lead our country for the next 4 years.  It is important to teach our students about the election process and its importance. I put together an Election Day packet called"Getting Ready for Election Day" which you can access by clicking on the picture below.

It includes A Shared Reading Book, 2 Reading Texts and Comprehension Questions at the 2nd and 3rd Grade levels, 2 Sets of Picture/Word/Fact Cards, 3 Writing Graphic Organizers and 2 sets of Writing prompts at the 2nd and 3rd grade levels. Common Core Standards are included for both 2nd and 3rd grades. He is a preview:
