Election 101

The election is right around the corner. If you are anything like me, you have a nice pile of election materials to read the night before heading to the voting booth. I am forever doing things at the last minute, while doing ten other things simultaneously! The election is not much different. So, if you have not made any grand plans for election day, consider this freebie. Its one of two coming your way! You get everything you need to run a class election in your k-2 classroom!

Freebie #2 is what you can do the day after the election! Have your class write letters to the White House congratulating the winner. Letter writing and social studies in a freebie! Woo-Hoo!  In the download, you will get full color pages for a bulletin board and darling lined writing pages for your letters as well as directions on how to get the letters to the White House. You can use this freebie for President's Day as well! Pages are also included that say "Dear Mr. President,".

These are part of my American Symbols Reading Fluency Unit.
This is such a great unit for building reading fluency
and filling your grade book with social studies grades!
The students in my room have LoVeD learning about American Symbols.
They cheer when I tell them, "It's time for Social Studies!"
When you are "Labeling Lady Liberty", what's not to love?
