  144. Our building has a few kindle fire's in our school library, but they are not allowed to leave the library. A few of my lucky love muffins have been lucky enough to get their hands on one. They are so excited about using them! I'd definitely use one during Read to Self in my classroom. I also think it could be a used as a "prize" for good behavior...where students could choose to earn time on the Nook!

*I could use this Nook to integrate curriculum through children’s literature

*I could develop lesson plans for math, science, and social studies objectives and bring lessons to life using this new technology!

    * Enhance curriculum and thematic units

    * Provide meaning and relevance to students by helping them connect lessons to real life experiences through children’s books

    * My students often have a hard time focusing and this new nook would allow me to capture their attention and make learning interesting and fuN!

    * Convenient, online shopping and of course, browsing your tipsforteachers blog to get more ideas :)

  157. Thank you for doing this giveaway!!! It's wonderful to do that! I am working on creating a small library of Nooks for my class. My kids have decided they think it would be wonderful to have a Nook for every child to use so I continue to search for Nooks through my own funds and through grants and fundraisers. This would be a great addition to our classroom Nook library!!!! My kinders would be sooo excited to win this (as would their teacher)!

  161. I would give it to my lowest reader. I wrote a grant for 6 but it wasn't funded. They didn't think it would enhance reading at all. It sounds like from the posts that the teachers here don't agree. I think it's a fantastic way to encourage reluctant readers and would love to have them in my classroom.
